Job Responsibilities

Golder Associates is seeking a Junior CADD Technician for Victoria and Vancouver, BC location to assist the professional and technical staff . 


Duties will include but are not limited to:

Work as a member of multi-discipline project teams to provide engineering design and analysis on projects as directed by the engineer, consultant      and/or project manager;

  • Provide technical 2D and 3D drafting and design services and support;
  • Prepare technical figures and engineering drawings containing plans, profiles, sections and details;
  • Prepare scaled drawing sheet sets using external drawing references and data short-cuts;
  • Perform various technical calculations;
  • Work with and manage geo-referenced spatial data and have good working knowledge of various geographic coordinate systems, projections and geodetic datums;
  • Reporting to senior staff;
  • Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to global company standards, work flows and best practices;
  • Interact and work together with other teams within the group to provide integrated services and support;
  • Communicating and operating in a professional and courteous manner with team members, project teams and clients;
  • Working collaboratively with staff from other Golder offices, as required, to meet project and client needs;
  • Some travel to other Golder offices may be required;
  • Performing other administrative and technical project duties as required;
  • Demonstrating a “Safety-First” focus and acting as a role model to other staff;
  • Maintaining a high standard of behaviour to uphold Golder’s reputation and demonstrating a commitment to our Core Values; and
  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:


  • A technical diploma, CAD certificate or equivalent;
  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to demanding work assignments;
  • Willingness to work in a team atmosphere;
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to identify alternative solutions.
  • Ability to work with the following software would be considered and asset:Civil3D, Surfer, Surpac, Vulcan, InfraWorks.
