Job Responsibilities

Golder Associates Ltd. is seeking a dynamic Junior Hydrogeologist to join their Geosciences Group in Ottawa


The successful candidate will:

  • Assist senior and intermediate project managers within the Environmental Division with field investigation programs; drilling, test pitting, soil sampling, monitoring well installations, aquifer testing, groundwater and surface water sampling, etc.;
  • Assist project managers with office duties such as data processing, analysis and interpretation, numerical modelling, report preparation, proposal preparation, and other general office duties;
  • Learn about the various environmental regulations and guidelines that are applicable to our work;
  • Learn about the consulting business;
  • Demonstrating a “Safety-First” focus and acting as a role model to other staff;
  • Maintaining a high standard of behaviour to uphold Golder’s reputation and demonstrating a commitment to our Core Values; and,
  • Performing other duties as required.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering, or related field, specializing in hydrogeology / groundwater resources.  Strong candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may be considered;
  • Previous applicable work experience is preferred, but consideration will be given to strong candidates who may not fulfil this requirement;
  • Strong, all-round knowledge of hydrogeology, including physical and contaminant hydrogeology;
  • Academic qualifications which give the candidate eligibility for professional registration in Ontario; and,
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills are essential.
