Golder Associates is currently seeking a Communications Intern to join our team in Calgary.

Working under supervision of the Americas Communications Director, the Communications Intern will provide a variety of administrative functions to support the timely execution of communications objectives that support Golder’s North American and Global communications operation, including: maintaining schedules for key projects; updating content on the company’s intranet; assisting with planning and set up of communications activities; facilitating internal meetings; and other duties as required. Writing samples and portfolios may be requested of qualified candidates. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Assist communications members with ongoing priorities, as required;
  • Maintain content on company intranet;
  • Assist in the development of content for dissemination through corporate social media channels (mainly LinkedIn, Twitter);
  • Support development of Outlook-based email templates, tracking system, and distribution lists;
  • Assist with postings of content (including writing, formatting and approvals) to internal digital signage monitors (GolderTV);
  • Assist with general communication in support of ongoing company programs;
  • Research, write and post announcements for intranet newfeeds;
  • Support development, recording and production of multimedia content;

Performing other duties to support local, regional and global initiatives as required.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:


  • An Undergraduate Degree or College Diploma in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, business, office administration, or related discipline;
  • One to two years of direct work experience in a corporate/business environment.

The ideal candidate’s skills will be evident in all their accomplishments and they will have the following additional qualifications;

  • Working knowledge of corporate communications practices such as research, interviewing, writing, and story development;
